Sarah Benton - Creative Director, Vocal Coach

Sarah always dreamt of running her own Singing and Dance School. Having worked for a number of other sining companies and groups she launched Step up & Sing in September 2013. Sarah Benton Vocals has worked as a professional Vocal coach and Session Singer since graduating from her MA Masters Degree in Contemporary Music Performance at Academy Ctemporary Music. Sarah has big dream for the Step Up & Sing family and is excited to equip and empower many young performers.

Britney Marais - Vocal Coach

Brittney has been studying music for over 6 years, firstly with the Oboe in which she received grade 7 and then with singing. She is currently attending BIMM Brighton studying a BA Degree in Professional Musicianship: Vocals. Brittney is a private vocal coach and has been teaching at Step Up and Sing for two years. She teaches the primary class and the adult pop gospel choir as well as offering private one to one lessons under Step Up and Sing. She also teaches as a peripatetic music teacher in a secondary school in Lewes. Brittney has performed in places such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, The Assembly Halls in Tunbridge Wells, Komedia in Brighton, in Barcelona and Italy. She has also performed live on radio and organised many shows for step up and sing.

Anna Stanely - Vocal Coach

Singing and theatre have always been an important part of Anna’s life. From attending theatre school as a child she was encouraged and given opportunities to develop and grow into the passionate singer and performer she is today. Using a fun and vibrant style Anna has gone onto regularly teach, direct, produce and perform in many plays and musicals. Anna regularly performs across different settings ranging from small gig venues to larger scale concerts. She has produced and directed high quality productions, including 'Taming of the Shrew’ and ‘Journey through Christmas.’   Anna loves working with people to see them grow in their confidence and full singing potential. She has experience coaching all ages and abilities, in one on one and group settings.

Hayley Bullock - Dance Coach

Growing up Haylee wanted to explore different music genres and dance styles and so attended Salsa lessons and Contemporary dance lessons from a young age. She performed with The Elite Dance Company and the West Sussex Contemporary Dance Company. She found Street Dance classes in her early teens where like duck to water and soon found her natural dance style. Hayley is also passionate about acting. She went on to Lewes College to study a BTEC in Performing Arts coming out with Triple Distinction. At the mere age of 17 she auditioned and secured her place as the youngest Holiday Entertainer for First Choice; performed to thousands of hotel guests. When she returned to the UK she got to work fast and set up her own Street Dance Lessons and Street Dance Crew. From the sprightly age of 18 and onwards she established herself even more with teaching 1-2-1 dance lessons, forming her Dance Crew - 'MalFUNKtion', choreographing and performing at events with them, holding Hen Dance Parties, Childrens and Adults Dance Parties, set up her own Haylee's Dance Factory and choreographed and helped direct Music Videos from Brighton artists to American artists.

Tyler Rainbow - Dance Coach

From the age of 3 Tyler has been in dance schools and performance academies, taking dance exams in Modern, Ballet and Tap. Having taken part in Music and Arts Festivals, competing with group pieces and solos, Tyler is now studying at the Brit school. Tyler is part of an all male dance company called 'Khronos' based at The Brit school. They have performed at 'dance proms' at The Royal Albert Hall, Move It' at Olympia arena as well as others. Tyler has a wealth of experience working with physical disabilities and complex medical needs acting 'buddy' students supporting them in their classes and offering friendly advice.

Sophie Lamont - Vocal Coach

Sophie Lamont is our youngest coach at Step Up and Sing. Sophie’s been singing for 5 years and has had experience of singing in a variety of different performance environments including cafes, theatres and recording backing vocals on an EP. Dancing and choreographing is something she has become very passionate about through work for Step Up & Sing in the last two years. From September 2016 she plans to be studying music performance in vocals in London.

Jordan Williams - Helper

Jordan is a superb member of the Step Up & Sing family, helping out with the primary Academy and our after school clubs. She has a real talent in both singing and dance and often helps assist our coaches with routines and arrnagements. Jordan has a very bright future ahead of her in the perfomance world.

Grace Dougan - Helper

Grace joined the Step Up & Sing family in November 2014 and loves every minute of it! She is a helper in the Primary class and and enjoys the honour to work alongside a wonderful team who see students grow as performers. The thing she loves most about Step Up and Sing is the confidence-building atmosphere. It doesn't matter if you can't hit a note or miss a dance move. Everyone is positive and works together to deliver amazing performances. Grace is a member of a performing arts academy, singing, dancing and acting. She is passionate about singing and loves passing on my wisdom and experience to younger performers. Grace dances in her free time and is excited to gain more experience when she starts Sixth Form studying Performing Arts.
